Café Tokiona

This cute, quaint little cafe with its vintage interior offered a great breakfast for a bargain: bagel sandwich, hard boiled egg, sides and a coffee for Y1000. Despite my complete lacking of Japanese language, the staff was very warm and welcoming

The cranberry bagel was good (not pictured). Didn’t enjoy the pudding but that might be due to personal preference. Come if you love a vintage tea parlour sort of setting, it’s nice for photos at certain tables with old fashioned sofas, at other tables it’s just plain tables and chairs. L1 is mostly for 2 pax groups, bigger groups will have to go up the stairs to L2. It is a bit cramped indoors. No frills service, it’s a simple cafe. Food is served reasonably quickly.

This cafe is such a gem! From the decor to the food to the hot beverages, it’s really a fantastic find! The tables are all old foot-pedal sewing machines; the tea and coffee mugs are absolutely gorgeous fine china; the plates are Le Creuset; the decor reminds me of what my grandmother tells me her grandmother’s house looked like; and the music ranged from lovely 20s jazz to early rock and roll. The black tea was very high quality and the coffee was expertly blended. The pieces of bread on the breakfast menu were huge and fluffy! Do yourself a favor and treat all your senses at this fine cafe. It’ll be the best decision you make all week!
